What is an SR-22?
An SR-22 is an insurance document that shows proof of financial responsibility and verification of insurance coverage. The license bureau may require you to provide an SR-22 in addition to your car insurance if you drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol, drive without insurance, have multiple moving violations, or are involved in a motor vehicle accident without insurance.
If your driver license is suspended, you may need to file an SR22 with the State where your license is suspended and possibly in your home State to get your driver license reinstated. You may be required to carry an SR22 for one year or longer, depending on your violation history. You must maintain your SR22 insurance policy during that requirement period or risk license suspension.
Bargain Insurance Connection can help you file the SR22 with the DMV. We also offer Express License Reinstatement (24-48 business hours). If you are not eligible yet to get your license reinstated, we can help you apply for a Hardship license, as long as you are eligible to obtain one. Ask one of our agents for details.
Non-Owners SR22:
You may be required file the SR22 under an insurance policy even if you do not own a vehicle. We offer a Non-Owners policy for drivers that need an SR22 insurance but have no vehicles to insure.
