As one of 12 schools in the State University System of Florida, the University of Florida in Gainesville has offered educational programs for more than 160 years. Additionally, UF online provides learners with access to more than 200 undergraduate and graduate degrees and certifications.
Designed for working educational professionals, UF’s online master of education program includes 36 credits that learners complete in roughly two years. Classes prepare students to work with individuals, groups, and in educational administration settings while building advanced knowledge of public school finance and organizational structures. Students take courses in educational leadership, public school law, communication in education, and data-driven decision making.
Participants also complete a supervised practice in school administration during one of their last two semesters. This practicum allows learners to work alongside a certified principal and gain at least 150 field experience hours. The on-site supervisor and a university supervisor evaluate the learner upon practicum completion.
Participants can begin the online master of education program at UF during the fall, spring, or summer semesters. Class sizes of 10-15 students allow learners to work closely with their peers and instructors as they pursue their degrees.
Applicants to UF’s online master of education must hold an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited institution. Interested students must submit transcript information demonstrating a GPA of at least 3.0 in upper-division coursework and their GRE scores.
